Meagan Milatz

An accomplished pianist, Meagan Milatz began her studies in Weyburn, Saskatchewan at the age of five with Cherith Alexander. She progressed very quickly, completing her Performer’s ARCT at the age of twelve. Since then, Meagan has gained much valuable experience as a performer and competitor. She was named the most outstanding overall competitor in the Grand Awards Competition at the Saskatchewan provincial music festival in 2011. She received second place at the National Music Festival in 2009 and third place in 2011. In 2009, she received second place in Piano Class B at the prestigious OSM competition in Montreal. Meagan came away with first prize in the CFMTA National Piano Competition in 2011, along with the opportunity to perform with the string members of the Gryphon Trio. As the winner of the Regina Musical Club Recital Competition, she appeared in concert there in January 2014.
Ever eager to learn, Meagan has had the privilege of participating in numerous summer programs, including the Centre d’Arts Orford, Morningside Music Bridge, and the Banff Centre. Meagan is currently studying under the direction of Dr. Ilya Poletaev at McGill University in pursuit of a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, along with a minor in Early Music Performance, and is a recipient of the school’s highly prestigious Schulich Scholarship.
