Haewon Yang

24 year old Korean-Canadian pianist Haewon Yang is a native of Ottawa, ON. Her awards and achievements spread across various fields. She has won various awards and honours from the Canadian Music Festival, Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation, Ontario Music Festival Association, Kiwanis Music Festival, ORMTA competitions, Thirteen Strings Concerto Competition, the Royal Conservatory of Music, Indiana University Concerto Competition, Royal College of Organists, as well as the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition.
Ms. Yang’s teachers include Sun-Ju Koh, Paulette Price, Marietta Orlov, Shigeo Neriki, and Arnaldo Cohen.
Ms. Yang received her Bachelors of Music at the University of Toronto, where received the full-tuition William Aide Entrance Scholarship in Piano Performance, as well as the David and Marcia Beach Scholarship. Upon her acceptance to Masters of Music at Indiana University, she was granted the position of Assistant Instructor in the piano department.
Ms. Yang is currently pursuing the Performance Diploma at Indiana University, studying with Professor Arnaldo Cohen on the Artistic Excellence Fellowship.
