Justine Pelletier

Canadian pianist Justine Pelletier has been featured as a soloist with the McGill Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Francophonie and the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, and has collaborated with artists such as the Cecilia String Quartet, Antonio Lysy and Laurence Kayaleh. She has participated in festivals such as the Lanaudière Festival in Joliette and the CharmberFest in New York. In the spring of 2012, she toured the Eastern Provinces of Canada, giving 20 solo recitals in collaboration with the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada.
She is a prizewinner of the Fondation Jeunesses Musicales du Canada (l’Université de Montréal), National Music Festival, Montréal Symphony Orchestra and Prix d’Europe competitions. In 2011, she won the first prize of the Hélène-Roberge Competition and the first prize in the piano category of the prestigious Prix d’Europe competition, as well as the John Newmark prize, given to the artist whose musical and aesthetic qualities have particularly attracted the jury’s attention.
She is a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York where she completed her Master’s degree as a student of Julian Martin (May 2011). Previously, she was awarded both the Bachelor of Music degree as well as the DESS (Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées) at l’Universtité de Montréal where she studied with Jean Saulnier and Marc Durand. She is the recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la société et la culture. She is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at l’Université de Montréal as a student of pianists Jean Saulnier and Jimmy Brière.
