Adam Sun

Adam Sun, born in Vancouver, is currently based at the University of British Columbia as a student studying piano performance with Professor Corey Hamm. Beginning at the age of seven, Mr. Sun has studied with a variety of mentors, including teachers Irina Faletski and Sergei Saratovsky.
He has earned awards and placements at various piano festivals and competitions, including the Canadian Music Competition, Vancouver Kiwanis Festival, and the VSO School of Music Concerto Competition. Recently, he received an opportunity to play for two concerts with the VSO, being one of two pianists performing selections from Carnival of the Animals and the première of Carnival of Our Animals, a suite composed by conductor William Rowson and based on three animals of Coast Salish nations.
Mr. Sun continues to pursue solo performance opportunities, performing for retirement homes and in recitals, as well as collaborative endeavors, which includes working with choirs such as UBC’s Vox (Tenor/Bass choir). He enthusiastically works with other instrumentalists and singers, often promoting works outside of the standard repertoire.
