Jeanne Amièle

Jeanne Amièle is a promising young pianist from Montréal. In the past few years, she has taken part in many national competitions in which she has repeatedly won prizes. Recently, she was awarded the Grand Prize of the Canadian Music Competition and the 3rd Prize in the prestigious OSM Manulife Competition. Ms. Amièle has also been invited to play as a soloist with different orchestras in Québec including: the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières with maestro Jacques Lacombe, the Appassionata chamber orchestra with maestro Daniel Myssyk, and the Orchestre de l’Université de Montréal with maestro Véronique Lussier. On those occasions, she played concertos by Ravel, Mozart, and Schumann. She was also invited to take part in chamber music concerts for the Orford Festival and the Lanaudière International Festival in 2015.
Ms. Amièle has studied at the Université de Montréal with Professor Jean Saulnier since 2009. She also been studied in Switzerland in 2013-2014 as part of an international exchange program, during which she was working with professor Dominique Weber at the Haute école de musique de Genève. She is now pursuing a Doctorate in Music at the Université de Montréal, for which she has been awarded a Joseph-Armand-Bombardier grant from the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
