Tessa Nysetvold, Violoncello

Nineteen-year-old Tessa Nysetvold currently studies at the Colburn Conservatory of Music with acclaimed ’cellist Clive Greensmith. She began her musical studies at age seven under the guidance of Beth Root Sandvoss and attended the Advanced Performance Program at Mount Royal Conservatory.

Ms. Nysetvold made her solo début as a winner of the Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition and has been a frequent recipient of awards at the national level including being a three-time winner of the Canadian Music Competition.

She has attended the Meadowmount School of Music as a student of Hans Jørgen Jensen, the Orford Musique Academy, and will attend the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival at the Yale Summer School of Music in June 2025. Ms. Nysetvold has studied extensively with John Kadz and Johanne Perron and has worked with esteemed artists including Johannes Moser, Laurence Lesser and members of the Calidore Quartet. Ms. Nysetvold has performed in the Colburn Chamber Music Society and alongside the New Orford String Quartet.
