Enoch Ng, Viola

Enoch Ng is a 2nd year undergrad student at the University of British Columbia studying under the guidance of David Harding. Prior to this, he spent his 1st year undergrad at McGill University studying with André Roy. He began his musical studies on the violin at the age of 4, and over the past four years has developed a passion for the viola.
Mr. Ng has had various orchestral experiences in the music programs at Lord Byng Secondary, the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra and as well as the Senior Orchestra at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Mr. Ng was a member of the violin section of the VYSO from 2004-2011 and principal violist in the senior orchestra of the Vancouver Academy of Music from 2010-2013. He has both orchestral experiences and solo experiences as well.
Mr. Ng has had solo performances both at Lord Byng Secondary with the school orchestra and with the Metropolitan Orchestra at the UBC Chan Centre performing the Walton Viola Concerto. Recently, he has spent his summer studying in the National Arts Centre Orchestra Young Artists Program with Pinchas Zukerman, Patinka Kopec, and Grigory Kalinovsky.
His future plans involve pursuing a career as a musician and helping him prepare for this endeavor are violists Gerald Stanick and David Harding.
